HONEY, TAKE A WHIFF ON ME
The origin of this cheerful ditty of the dope-heads is doubtfi] At any rate the Southern barrel-house Negroes sing it and ha^ made it their own. Verses 1-7 come from New York City, the othe from the lips of Iron Head and Lead Belly. Most of the stanzas,; we heard them in the prisons, are unprintable. |
